Drug Market Intervention Strategy

Research Findings

Pioneered in High Point, NC, in 2004, the National Network’s drug market intervention strategy has been replicated in numerous cities around the country to address the violence and disorder that comes with drug markets in many of their neighborhoods.  A formal evaluation is currently underway in East Nashville, TN, and a pre/post trend evaluation of a drug market intervention in Rockford, IL, found a reduction in property, drug, and nuisance offenses of 22 percent.  See Essential Readings and Full Index for details of the research on the strategy to date.
